Yoga Nidra or yogic sleep is a guided deep relaxation class. The practice is done lying down on a mat supported by pillows, blankets, an eye pillow or any other props you need to be comfortable. The feeling of deep relaxation is developed in the entire body as you explore body sensations, breath, emotion and belief. The benefits of yoga nidra include profound relaxation, relief from PTSD, anxiety, depression, stress, grief and insomnia/sleep disorders. It can be used as an antidote to our busy, stressed out lifestyles. Sign up here: http://www.beverlyyogacenter.com/schedule/

At the beginning of most yoga classes, the instructor asks you to set an intention.  But what does that mean exactly, how do you do it and why is it important?  Setting an intention before or after your practice or at the beginning or end of your day can be a powerful practice because it’s the first step to embodying that which is your heart’s deepest desire or longing. It can also be a great way to discover what you’d like to let go of or forgive. In this class we’ll explore and journal questions, bhavana (guided imagery) and calming breath work to assist us in forming an intention. This intention or sankalpa becomes a statement you can call upon to remind you of your true nature and guide your choices.  Sign up here: http://www.beverlyyogacenter.com/schedule/
